THE PROGRAM

The Central Claim Executives Association has established a scholarship program to assist children of Claims staffs of member companies who plan to continue in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

Awards are granted without regard to race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin or financial need.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to The John Davis Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

Be dependent, unmarried children (natural, adopted or step-children) under the age of 27 (as of the application open date) of current full-time Claims employee of active Central Claim Executives Association (CCEA) member companies which have been CCEA organizational members for at least one year by February 1 of the application year

Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to enroll OR students who are already enrolled in a full time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year

AWARDS

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to two (2) awards will be granted. Awards are not automatically renewable. However, students are encouraged to reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

APPLICATION

Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades to CCEA postmarked no later than June 30. Applicants will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of their application.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by authorized, current CCEA leadership team members.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership & participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career & educational goals and objectives, and unusual personal or family circumstances. Financial need is not considered.

Only the CCEA Executive Committee is involved in the evaluation and selection process. The actual selection of recipients is made by current Central Claim Executives Association leadership officers. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Applicants will be notified of award decisions by the end of July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year that they meet eligibility requirements.

PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS

The John Davis Scholarship payments by the CCEA (payable to the educational institution, delivered to student recipients) are made in one installment in August.

OBLIGATIONS

Recipients have no obligation to CCEA other than they are required to notify CCEA of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information. If selected, recipients are asked to provide a photo & biographical information as well as provide written consent to publicize their award as CCEA deems appropriate.

REVISIONS

CCEA reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.
